LYONS GADDIS WELCOMES GUNNAR PAULSEN

Gunnar Paulsen Lyons Gaddis proudly welcomes Gunnar Paulsen to its Water Practice Group—a move that further strengthens the firm’s deep bench of talent serving clients across the state.

Paulsen brings extensive experience representing municipalities, special districts, agricultural operations, ski resorts, industrial clients, and individuals across Colorado. He has successfully appeared in all seven of Colorado’s water courts, as well as in district and appellate courts and before numerous state agencies. His practice includes everything from strategic water supply planning to water court litigation and complex water rights transactions.

“We’re excited to welcome Gunnar to our team,” said Cameron Grant, head of the Real Estate Team. “His depth of experience and dedication to service align perfectly with our mission to elevate water law across Colorado. At Lyons Gaddis, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of this critical practice area—and Gunnar will help us do just that.”

Prior to joining Lyons Gaddis, Paulsen practiced water, land use, and water quality law at a Boulder-based firm. He earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School and graduated with honors from Willamette University with a degree in English and Politics.

While in law school, Paulsen led the Acequia Assistance Project, a pro bono effort providing legal services to farmers in the San Luis Valley. He also conducted research at the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment and held legal positions with the Native American Rights Fund and the Colorado Attorney General’s Office.
